| Thompson joins Cowboy signees, will head
to Butte College (CA)
Caleb Thompson, a senior at Custer County District High
School, has signed a letter of intent to play football at
Butte College. The junior college, located in northern
California, has been able to produce over 60 Division I-A
players since 2000, as well as over 300 Scholar-Athletes and
have more than 10 members of its alumni go on to play
professional football.
Thompson joins fellow signees Kyle Begger (Montana
State), Pat Regan (Carroll College), Mike Miller and Jess
Fuhrman (Dickinson State) as Cowboys headed to further their
education while continuing their football careers.

Vallie to run for Griz, Moody headed to NW State,
McNamee verbals
-- Hardin senior Brian Vallie, a top-5 finisher in three
events at the 2005 Class A Track and Field State Meet, as
well as a successful cross country runner, has signed his
national letter of intent to run for the University of
Montana beginning next fall. Vallie is a middle-to-long
distance runner for the Bulldogs, as well as being one of
their top harriers in 2005. He finished third in the 3200
meters, fourth in the 1500 meters and fifth in the 800 at
the state meet this past May.
-- CCDHS senior guard Sarah McNamee has verbally
committed to play basketball next season at Miles Community
College. The 5-foot-8 McNamee averaged 13 points, 5
rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals a game for the Cowgirls
last season, and has been an All-Eastern A pick the past two
seasons.
-- Miles Community College sophomore post player Jerry
Moody has signed a letter of intent to play at Northwest
State University next season.

| Area Athlete Update hits air November 1
Senger Broadcasting (KKRY/KMTA Radio) will unveil the Area
Athlete Update during the 3:30 p.m. Sports on both Hot
Country 92.3 FM and 1050, KMTA, on Tuesday, November 1.
For now, the Area Athlete Update will air on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and more if needed. Catley adds,
"The goal is for it to be on five days a week during
the sports season, generally September through April."
In addition, that day's report will also be available online
in the Radio Montana Sports section.

DECEMBER 22, 2005 -- BC -- 12/22/05
-- HIS TEAMS, BEING THE FURTHEST WESTWARD IN THE SOUTHERN
C FOOTBALL DISTRICT, ARE USED TO COMMUTING LONG DISTANCES TO
PLAY GAMES. NOW, SHAWN HALLOWELL WILL DO THAT FOR HIS
FOOTBALL COACHING NEXT SEASON. HALLOWELL IS LEAVING THE
HYSHAM FOOTBALL PROGRAM TO BE A MEMBER OF THE STAFF AT ROCKY
MOUNTAIN COLLEGE. HALLOWELL WAS 88-44 IN 15 SEASONS AT THE
HELM OF THE PIRATES, COACHING HIS ALMA MATER AS AN
ASSISTANT, THEN TAKING THE HEAD COACHING DUTIES IN 1991. THE
1985 GRAD OF HYSHAM SPENT TIME AT MONTANA STATE, THEN
TRANSFERED TO ROCKY FOR HIS FINAL TWO SEASONS. HALLOWELL IS
A MEMBER OF THE MONTANA COACHING STAFF FOR THE BADLANDS BOWL
IN JUNE HERE IN MILES CITY, ALONG WITH ONE OF HIS BROTHERS,
MATT, WHO COACHES IN BELGRADE. HALLOWELL HAS ALSO BEEN HEAD
COACH FOR THE CLASS C ALL-STAR GAME, WHICH HE HAS DONE THREE
TIMES. HYSHAM WILL BE PLAYING SIX-PLAYER FOOTBALL NEXT
SEASON.
-- SIDNEY GRADUATE MEGAN MOHR HAS SPLIT HER TIME WITH THE
J-V AND VARSITY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAMS AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN
COLLEGE THIS SEASON. IN THEIR MOST RECENT ACTION AT THE J-V
LEVEL, MOHR SCORED 15 POINTS AS THE J-V LADY BEARS BEAT
NORTHWEST COLLEGE, 46-44, ON DECEMBER 8TH, AND SCORED 18
POINTS IN A WIN OVER THE UNIVERSITY OF GREAT FALLS J-V. MOHR
HAS ALSO PLAYED THREE GAMES AT THE VARSITY LEVEL FOR ROCKY,
WHO IS 12-AND-9 AT THE J-V LEVEL THIS SEASON, AND 4-AND-9 AT
THE VARSITY LEVEL.
-- HARDIN GRAD TANA STEWART IS GETTING SOME PLAYING TIME
FOR THE CASPER COLLEGE LADY THUNDERBIRDS THIS SEASON. THE
TEAM HAS NOT UPDATED THE STATS POSTED ON THEIR WEB SITE
SINCE DECEMBER 5TH ... BUT STEWART HAS PLAYED IN 13 GAMES
THIS SEASON IN A RESERVE ROLE, AVERAGING 2.2 POINTS AND 1.4
REBOUNDS A GAME FOR THE LADY T-BIRDS. CASPER IS 9-AND-7 SO
FAR THIS SEASON.
